How Can sinus Infection Along With Chronic Cough Be Treated?

Is singular safe for a five year old male with repetitive sinus infections and chronic cough after a cold? Checking for enlarged adenoids.....no X-ray results yet. Has had wheezing once with congestion, and was placed on albuterol nebulizer prn. I am just not comfortable with this med when no asthma diagnosis and breathing tests normal. Only allergic to dogs, and none in home. He also takes Claritin daily.

Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.

Singulair is the braand name of monteleulkast. It is effective for allergic rhinitis and allergic cough.
He might require short course of antibiotics for five to seven days.
Expectorant cough syrups can be tried to clear of mucus and secretions.
Consult an ENT physician in case of resistant cases.
Thanks
